Who has used the suction cup mounts for their Gopros on rough city streets/racing/high speeds? Just go with the OE Gopros or an aftermarket one?
Which ones have you used with good results? I plan on getting an external mic at some point if the sound quality isn't good enough.

I've used the one that came with the hero2 for autocross, and as a dash cam for a while. Never had any problems, has been the best suction cup mount I've used for anything.

I use an OE suction mount with my Hero3. So long as I mount it properly , I feel comfortable driving over any sort of surface. I had experience where I mounted it on a dusty piece of high-vibration plastic and it fell off (camera, case, and hardware all still good though, plus it kept recording while and after it fell off). Now I'm just very careful about where I mount the thing and how clean that surface is, but yeah, I'm comfortable with its ability to hold on.

I've used the OE mount for my track days. Other than a bit of shaking around (due to rough road surfaces), it's very good.

I've had the OE suction mount stay attached to the windshield through a full weekend of rallying. I have discovered that at particularly rough events if I don't re-secure it after 4-8 hours there's a risk of increased camera shake, but it's never actually dislodged on me.

I've used the OE one off roading for several hours on a vibration prone door panel with no issues. in fact I've never had one fall off. RAM mounts is a good alternative though.

I used a OE suction cup mount to mount a Hero2 to an underwater glider. It held on, no problem. So if held through the extra resistance of passing through water, air shouldn't be a problem.
I'm interested to know what you find though, post up your results afterwards.

I used the suction cup on my bike at Texas World. There was some significant vibration at higher speeds.

I've used the newer suction cup mount with no issues for almost a year now. I make sure to wipe off the surface and moisten the suction cup. Works on my motorcycle or on my GTI for autocross (or stupid backroad driving *ahem*)
